waytooearly I'm Diane Schutz I am one of the segment producers on the show and I've been on this series since the beginning almost ten years In that time wow one of these days I really should count how many countries I've been to somewhere in between maybe thirty-five and forty It's been quite the adventure one thing I always have to explain to people is that you know yes even though I'm traveling around the world it's definitely not a vacation At the same time we've probably done a lot of things and seen a lot of things that you wouldn't get to do on your typical vacation So this is my third trip to Japan but my first time ever in tokyo It's a kooky amazing city and it was gorgeous On a typical day we wake up usually go to your hotel breakfast I try to get there about fifteen minutes before call time And once you start the scenes for the day you're continually rolling Say you'll drive to your first scene you try to get there a little bit ahead of Tony in case we need to do any set up Do the scene Maybe break tony maybe you don't The crew breaks for lunch or maybe not On to the next scene It's constant It's constant figuring out schedule what are we doing on this day It's really long and non-stop If you're really lucky maybe the crew actually gets to sit down And then by the end of the day you just you have to have a drink with the rest of the crew you have to download a little bit from the day depending on where you are you have to be mindful that you're respectful of the local custom After that that's when I go back to the hotel room start writing up notes from the day thinking about the schedule for the next day you never know how the shoot's gonna go how the scenes will go someone that you thought might be a good sidekick turns out to be a dud because it's fluid you do make changes You're always trying to better your hand and better each scene so when you're done with that very last scene and you know this is it it's such a feeling of relief cause you know that's it great shoot At the end of the day all this is for this guy Our job is to make him look good and that's what counts
